If you only go to one motor racing event in your entire life....go to Le Mans :eek::D.
Me and my mate went three years back, totally on the spur of the moment ( decided to go at 7pm on the friday) .
Kinda went like this;
Drove Worcester to Portsmouth (booking ferry en route)
Breakfast just out side Le Havre.
Parked car at LeMans
Lunch (burger) on the terracing by the start finish grid.
Saw start and first five laps (Jags were rockin' from the start)
Drank beer with guys we met there.
Drank Champagne with guys we met there
Stumbled back to car park
Tried to sleep (50 metres from a few thousand horse power from various types of engine blasting down the track all night)
Baguette for breakfast
Took loads of pictures
Drove to Le Havre
Got home about 10pm
Went to work mon a.m
Watched last few laps on video Mon evening, because we couldn't get late ferry back ( had to be on earlier one )
Hell of an adventure. Highly recommended *****.

Have been twice, but never been as a spectator. But from what I saw of the spectating, its absolutley brilliant as far as motor racing, car spotting and beer drinkin goes! a few tips, be sure to get down to the town for the scruitineering, its your best chance of getting up close to the cars and drivers! Be sure to go up to either the Dunlop curve or Esses for some good night viewing (Brake disks glowing), both are up by the big wheel.
If you want a passenger..........and I havent got my own van by then, let me know!

I've been to LeMans 24 hours twice now.
Once with my old van and once in my T4, just be warned that the facilities are typically those of festival types.
I was glad of my own toilet!LOL:
If I go again it'll definately be with a solar shower (hopefully warm enough to use it!);)
Atmosphere is full on party party party.

Heres the current state of play....
All official ACO (race organisers) "camp sites"are fully booked with the exception of "Beausejour" which is miles from anywhere.
I went last year and stayed in "Bleu Nord" which backs on to the airfield and had a great time even though it rained loads.
With the planned biggelmo family tour I`m still not deciced on wether I`m going or not.
must say they have clamp down on a lot of things there now .we have stayed 20mls away and travelled in but. stay sat night .6 weeks after is classic ,
