Stolen Dark Blue Caravelle L672 PKV, Sheffield

Hi my dark blue Volkswagen Caravelle minibus (L672PKV) was stolen yesterday evening between 19:00 and 23:30 from Palm street in Walkley Sheffield, it had 5 of 8 seats fitted. I was supposed to be taking a university group up to Scotland for some biking at the end of November. If anyone sees it, it would be great... as I really wouldn’t mind it back. I realise it has now probably been burnt out in a field or is sat in a yard being stripped for parts.

I have been told there is no point claiming on insurance - (Privilege, fully comp £850), as although its not my fault, the doubling of my policy next year (£1600) and £550 excess is well over the £800 market value of the vehicle according to Privilege (cost a fair bit more than £800 as it’s a Caravelle in good nick and I bought it from my dad, who drove and cared for it just like a dad does!)

So now I’m down the cost of insurance + buying the van! (£2300). I have never claimed previously, but at 27 I have no NC bonus as I have only had classic car policies (>5years) which don’t build up a NC bonus.

if its any interest all transporters have a market for bits or complete in poland now it use to be sprinters now that market has dried up its transporters my mate owns a breakers yard & he says they are driving him mad when a transporter comes in & thats still reasonably rare ( hope you get it back Mate)

Thanks for the replies, no news as yet... Someone on sheffield forum said a load of T25, T4's and T5's had gone missing recently.
