Final fling is a vw show put on by the north devon vw club on the 24-26 october at woolacombe in N Devon. Last year was the first one they did and it was a real success as they only had 6 weeks to do it all. A few T4 forum members were there and we had a good time. The campsite is basic but a good time will be had. live bands,bar, trade stands,show and shine. T:
Really want to make it this year Mikey. (Got floored by manflu last year).

Like to point out this show is nothing to do wih me but run by the N Devon vw club, but i will be going as its only up the road and that makes a change for me and i will not get lost or have to dodge lots of traffic or run red lights to get there T:

Yeah, good weekend last year, more about the company than the show, sat in that nice surfy bar in Woolacombe watching the cruise go by, and the surf, the views, breakfast, a beer, loads of T4's, The Rockets lot all dressed up, Rob, Jane and there mate Dennis, The sunsets behind us, watching the bays trying to get up that hillI:.do i need to go on

I will be there having a look around, not going to be camping though as I only live about a mile away from the camp site.. But we will be there. Let's hope it is good weather for them again this year.

there will be about ten bands on over the weekend, show and shine,bouncy castle, hog roast,traders, auto jumble,bar,win a surfboard, and a falconary experiance. It is £15 pp for the weekend, kids £2 pp for the weekend, or £10pp for sat camping. The campsite is very basic, don,t expect luxury and its right on top of woolacombe so if it blows it blows, but last year we had a great time as those who went will tell you.T: There is a tug o war if we want to get a team together, and its halloween weekend so if you want to dressup as a ghost or gooly thing feel free.

this sounds like a great weekend but im going to miss it i think as its the last scooter rally of the season so im in a bit of a dilema :eek:
My dad wont let me borrow his T25 as he's using it (very mean as he owns another camper!) an my brother wont let me stay in his T4. Plus I havnt found me a decent T4 yet to buy.
Tent it is.....trauma!

I'm all very new to this.. got my T4 last month (my first), It's been in for a respray, should get it back this coming weekend, then it will be a race to get some sort of interior work done! I would like to put myself down as a 'definite probable' if thats possible or am I to late to join as a 'van virgin' as winter is nearly here I'd like to 'get a meet under my belt' before the weather gets too miserable and cold.

Final fling is a vw show put on by the north devon vw club on the 24-26 october at woolacombe in N Devon. Last year was the first one they did and it was a real success as they only had 6 weeks to do it all. A few T4 forum members were there and we had a good time. The campsite is basic but a good time will be had. live bands,bar, trade stands,show and shine. T:

Yer Rod the field will be glowing with warm fires....smokeless coal on ours..T: No smoke and no sparks from logs to melt awnings etc....

Bit of a heads up,
There is a mobile speed camera van about half way along the A361 between Tiverton and Barnstaple about 4miles before South Molton.
So remember to take it steady if you heading this way for final fling.
The speed limit is 60MPH so that probably means its a 50MPH limit technically for most T4's

Got a few bits to do for work this a.m and loading the van in between.
Hope to leave here about 1;30. with our bus and vwt4sam in his van. Should be passing M4 / M5 split at Bristol about 2;35 and quick pee an coffee at Sedgemoor svcs ( between J21 &22 3;05 ish. Hitting the A361 at J27 maybe 4.00 then on up to Woolacombe for about 5pm. Anyone going M5 south / A361 welcome to hook up !

Well just got back had a shower and some strong coffee and starting to feel humanoid again....guess theres a couple who it'll take a bit longer before they are with it...Steve/Mikey..I:
Was a great end to the seasons shows...windy on friday and abit chilly on Saturday but what with the new South west Gazebo and roaring coal fire all weekend it was toasty as toast!! Some serious drinking was had by the majority and a few heads were hurting the next days..a lovelly treck to the pub cleared most heads and that 45 degree hill back up to the site cleared most lungs out...except those who cheated and hitched lifts....
Bands were of a high standard and Nina, who remember was " suffering " with a cold gave us a demostration of freakiy dancing...Steve gave us a demostration of falling over in style..well done mate it was well entertaining..A:A:
Sunday was a wash out with heavy rain in the morning and a lot of us packing up and getting pushed out the field early...sorry never stopped to help push out Chris 2 Sugars but I still had forward motion and wasnt gonna stop for ought....nice flood on the roads on way home with some tw*t in a ford driving towards me so fast he sprayed muddy water over the roof of the van as he went past what a t*sser!!!
Big respect to those who travelled long distances to get there Neal, Webbs, 2 Sugars etc... CU all in shows next year..sorry no pics but bought camera along with flat batteries what a t*t..

At least we managed to snake it out field, clip my wing mirror with a policevan down the lane and then the Flood across the road, had a flippin tractor go though it flat out, soaked the van but think it cleaned that side of all the mud from field quite well!! LOL:

Thanks to all who made uswelcome at this great weekend dispite the bad weather towards the end of it.
Put a few more friendly faces to names as we trekked off down to the Red Barn (must of been the steepest hill ever):eek:. Well impressed by the couple of splittys who came hammering up there.A:
Couple of pints later and a bit of retail therapy managed to walk the hill back to the campsite (and don't my calves know it):)
Big thanks to Jane and Rob for taking us in to there awning and cooking us some scran, it was well yummy.
Hope everyone managed to get off the site ok.

Well after being granted a overnight pass late on saturday morning from Lauren thank you baby i rushed to pack my van as quick as quick could be and shot across the moor just in time to join the forum hiking team only then to join the drinking team at the pub big thanks to tom for the taxi back up the hill just in time for the hog roast then more drinking with dave(bigcat) and steve (t4ste) so after breaking an entry to rods van we hit the bar and THANKS STEVE the black sambuca which im sure was what caused the carnage to us Dave your welcome for the carry home i hope you get out the dog house by aprilI:I: and your head clears soon and steve likewise buddy if your in the plymouth area just pop in thanks to everyone else for a nice evening and i can now say the bed from the forge was worth every penny.

Got the Harris Twead out..........
Gutted to have missed the fun. Judith and I were working on the beach at Puts all weekend (saw a good few forum members), and Jak at work 9 am till midnight both days. Less than a mile away but at least it was warm and quiet in our beds! Sounds like it got a bit messy! How's the van smell now Tom?! :eek: I'm b******d if I'd take that lot in my van after a few bevvies - You're lucky it wasn't anything worse in there!

What a fantastic result for charity folks! well done for a worthy cause. We had a fab time. (proper cola at the bar and all!) the spiced rum and coffees were quite nice too! all hail to the young boy band "the confused". great show. (ps the quad biker who crashed into us down the road is ok), although his quad wasnt so lucky.T:
