Hello,

My name is Dan Cameron and I am the forum and club consultant for A-Plan Insurance.

At A-Plan I am fully qualified to an industry recognised standard CERT CII, and continue my own personal development to make sure I am up-to-date on the insurance industry.

Being a genuine VW enthusiast myself, I understand the scene really well and know the vehicles are a passion.

Our specialist schemes are designed to give you competitive rates on the insurance but also the peace of mind that your pride and joy is covered.

We cover standard vans i.e the business work horse, modified day vans, full on camper conversions including self build and cover modifications like for like inc ECU remaps.

We can look at high value vehicles over £45,000.

We are also able to offer agreed value on vehicles subject to terms and conditions. ( please contact me for details ).

The thing I am most proud of, is I am the only broker on the forum to support the great shows arranged by members of the forum. I have attended T-Fest, Wurzledubs, Dubtoberfest, Campermart and Dubaid. This year I have signed up for Vanwest and Dubs of Anarchy. Being a VW enthusiast I really enjoy meeting you guys and have made some really good friends.

I was also asked to be the official insurance sponsor for the Just-t4's forum and facebook page.

Check out our Facebook page and see the photos of the shows and events we do.

You are also more than welcome to drop me a private message with your name and contact details and you will get a call back the same day.

Please mention that you are a member on the VWT4 forum.

Kind regards

Hello,

I am doing my first Camperjam this year and we always do a free to enter prize draw at the event.

After trading next to our friend T4Chippy at Vanwest I have an amazing prize for the show..

So the star prize at Camperjam will be.. A custom made table to your design by T4chippy.

So if you want a captain America shield, family photo, flowers, a photo of your van or even a death star table, then it's yours

We will have other prizes too, but the table is a bit special.

See you all at Camperjam.

Hi - first post here.

I'm having real difficulties getting a sensible quotation for insurance.

I have owned and insured approx 8 vehicles over my 15 years of driving and never made a claim, trouble is for the last 5 years ive been on a company fleet policy and thus my years of sensible/safe driving count for nothing.

I'm just about to purchase a T5 Trendline 1.9TDI and can't get anything for less than £500.

The van at present is a panel van but i intend to convert, some insurers seem to think this is an issue some don't!!

Any advice?

Thanks

Alex

Try shield total insurance, specialize in self builds, will cover you as a camper straight away then give you 180 days to finish the conversion. Just insured a 2004 t5 2.5 130, face lift front, 19" alloys, lowered, full side conversion, £254. Last year was £241. Includes European cover too.

My wife and I have just been through the extremely painful experience of buying insurance for our newly purchased, used, partially converted LHD T5. We approached 10 insurers or insurance brokers, and always started our discussions stating up-front that there are already 4 notable modifications made to the vehicle:
  1. tow bar
  2. rock-and-roll seat bed
  3. kitchen pod
  4. night heater

We would agree a price, they would send us the paperwork, and tell us to check it all carefully. They advised us to only sign when everything is correct, or any claims could be declined.

However, none of them were willing to include our modifications in the main paperwork, and usually said that "they're noted in our system, so don't worry". They expected us to sign our agreement on the application form that clearly states that there are NO modifications! Doing that would give the underwriters the perfect right to decline any claim, because we agreed on the application form that there were NO modifications! All of them, except Dan.

I have to commend Dan of A-Plan Insurance. He is the ONLY insurance sales person who listened to our concerns and was willing to work with us to find a solution that works for both us and them. The sales experience with Dan was excellent ... better than all the rest by miles.A:

Let's just hope we get the same experience if ever we need to make a claim! Hopefully we'll only ever need to deal with Dan at renewal time, but, by then we want the van to be declared at the DVLA as a motorhome, so things should be a lot smoother.

Hello,

Its the fact I am very passionate about the scene which is why I am so busy.

This year I have worked 7:30am to around 7ish almost every day, paid and been an authorised trader at 8 great events and also helped a lot of clients with claims. ( I don't actually get paid for doing the shows, but I enjoy being part of the scene )

Also I do look after you guys. I had a client take out a policy and paid and then the seller let them down. I cancelled the policy at no charge where some of our competitors charge massive admin fees.

I can honestly say, I don't think you will find a broker who has been as pro-active as me in the scene this year, and next year is looking even bigger with lots of shows and events added.

Lots of people ask for me but I am just one man and the scene is massive. I do ask people if I am busy to speak to one of my colleagues as we have a really great team of people here.

David and Paul, both came to Camperjam with me this year and understand the scene really well.

Please can you drop me a PM with your name and number and I will call you back.

All the very best

Dan

Hello,

As you guys and girls know, we are very pro-active in the van scene and in 2017 we will be at more shows than ever.

Our show scene starts in January at Campermart where we are teaming up with Dirty Dub Junkies. They will have lots of designer hoodies, t-shirts and hats for sale.

https://www.facebook.com/DirtyDubJunkies/?fref=ts

You will also see us as paid up official traders for Vanwest and Wurzlesdubs and I am waiting for dates for Dubtoberfest, T-Fest, Camperjam..

You will not find a more pro-active broker in the van scene and we are very proud to support all these amazing events.

We have a great knowledge of both you as our clients and the different types of vans and the love and passion that goes into making them special. T:T:T:

If you see us at any events during the year then feel free to pop over.

Also to start the camping season off in style, I am giving a free cider to everyone who enters our free prize draw ( buying the ciders from my own pocket as a thank you :) ) ..at Vanwest..

Hope to see you all soon

Kind regards

Dan Cameron

Hello,

Just wanted to say get well soon to our good friend Dave Miles ( Meatball on the forum ).

He was involved in a nasty accident with a deer and currently getting treatment in hospital.

His friends have started a page to help raise some money for him as he is self employed.

Here is the link.

See you at Vanwest Dave :)

Show updates 2017

The show season is only a few months away and our first full camping/trade weekend is Vanwest T:T:

You will see us on a big stand with Chippys workshop and as always we will have lots of prizes to give away in our free prize draw.
As its our first camping show of the season we will be giving away a free bottle of cider to everyone who enters our free prize draw :)

Next up is 3 shows in a row... Wurzledubs, The West'est VW show and Bristol Volksfest. Looking forward to Wurzles as its a show we don't actually trade at but get to support the team.

Camperjam is all booked in July and we will be trading with our good friends at Dirty Dub Junkies.

Next up is one of my personal favourites Dubtoberfest.. We have been the main sponsor since its very first event. New location this year but same Dubtoberfest spirit. Really looking forward to this one.

Then a more chilled about relaxing weekend at Beaulieu for T-Fest. T-Fest will always be special to me as it was the first VW show I did for the forum and became good friends with Jimbo and the team. Very proud to support them T:T:T:

Last but not least is our first Busfest and we signed on as the main sponsor.

I have chosen some great prizes to give away at shows in our free prize draw, from top of the range socket sets, specialist VW mats from a top company and planning something special for Busfest.

Please feel free to follow our main Facebook page for updates, show photos and details for prizes.

Looking forward to seeing you all on your adventures.
