Does anyone on here share my enthusiasm for completing the wainwrights. I camped in waser on thursday with the full intention of staying to sunday but mother nature arrived with a vengeance so we beat a hasty retreat yesterday....satvan kept directing me to go back the way we came over the hardknott pass which I politely declined.....

Lingmoor fell with coniston in the background

.....going over the hardknott on thursday, glorious sunshine....

....middle fell with the x2 scafells in the background...

...and a very very windy seatallan......

help! .....I've lost me legs!....

Great pics, thanks for sharing. We've had a couple of short breaks in the lakes and will be doing more when the van is converted. We camped near Coniston and I will never forget how tired I felt after a (very hot) day long walk taking in 'The Old Man' with my 2 year old daughter on my back in one of those carriers. We also did Catbells and then I did Scafell Pike with some friends. Happy days.

Glad you got there ok (and back). Im not jealous at all….I:I:

In answer to your question I my self am not a wainwright bagger but I can see the appeal.

Looking through a load of his books whilst in Keswick the other week I discovered we had inadvertently covered most of them. Seeing the stuff we haven’t done makes me want to get back up there.

He was an amazing artist too, eh.

How many have you got to go Cocoa?

nice one modchop T: ....and clivey me and my pooch have x26 left, but the more you do the further apart they become  but saying that now that we have the camper it will be a lot easier to bag them all by the end of this summer T:

As I said Im not jealous at all..LOL:

I bet your woofer loves it.

Sorry off topic....but Im just wondering if I can convince the good lady for us to go back up there next weekend instead of decorating the bedroom. Especially if the white stuff persists in staying around and freezing…. I cant see it happening:(

Trouble is a thaw can be a right pain on fells. The only time we have had a injury is on wet snow. Whilst in Scotland doing the Ring of Steal my mate slipped back and cracked his head on a rock. Blood every where (worst than it looked). We bandaged him up and escorted him to casualty in fort William and he got sorted out.

I’m gonna keep quiet for the mo and watch the forecast. Thanks for the offer by the way, I might take you up on it…:D

I'm more of a casual wainwright bagger:D

It's an "as and when" thing.

Love it in the lakes though, got married at the "inn on the lake" over looking ullswater:D

Summited helvellyn several times, I love striding edge as a route downT:

Over nighted a couple of times which is good. Me and a mate are going to try to bag priests hole cave for an over nighter at some point soon.T:

Great pics by the way

just check when you go, it can get busy, its awesome, there is a diary that people leave messages, along with tea bags, coffee, matchsticks etc. it is what we love about walking, very few nasty people, mostly friendly happy go lucky types, a bit like dub owners...T:T:T:
