Well, what to say ... One year ago I got my first T4. It was love at first sight. I was looking for a van to convert it into camper and tried many vans - Renault, Citroen, Ford, Mercedes, ... but when I sat in the T4 and took it for a test ride I imeediately knew that was it. I put my money on the table and took it home.
Although the previous owner started with some camper conversion, I decided to build it after my own taste, so stripped everything out and started from the scratch. The result is this: ![]() I didn't go for typical setup with rock n' roll bed as I wanted more living and cargo space and also to be able to put bikes inside if needed for safety reasons. Meanwhile I'm still waiting for curtains to arrive and seat/bed covers to be made by a local upholster. What else to say? It's a 1998 2.5 TDI 102 bhp with 305.000 km on the clock. There were couple of things to fix - power steering, speed sensor, brakes, front suspension - but overall it's running pretty well. Recently I cleaned EGR (surprisely it was not that bad as I expected) and in the near future I need to change glowplugs and temp. sensor. The T4 is not my main (daily) car, but I use it almost every weekend from spring to autumn when I go climbing or cycling, and for now, I think there is no other van I could be happier with. I wouldn't trade it even for a T5 as I like it more robust and that I don't have to worry about dents and scratches. Well, that's it for now. I apologize for any spelling/grammar mistakes and I'm happy to answer any questions.

We're all different. But speaking for myself, it's a 14 years old van and if I get a scratch from branches when driving on a narrow mountain road, I really don't care that much as if I had a brand new T5. And observing my daily car (a Renault ), I think that water-based paint on newer cars is less scratch-resistant.

Indeed there are many beautiful alpine roads. I'm especially in love with the most NW part of Slovenia, the Julian Alps.
