Split Charging DIY Kit
Xtremevan Xtremevan is offline 23-06-11, 15:30

Following many requests from you guys that like playing with vehicle electrics, we have decided to make use of some 100 amp relays that we have tucked away. By adding extra parts we are able to offer a 'Budget' DIY Split Charging Kit that is unique to forum members. This kit contains everything that is required, including 110amp 16mm cable (5 mtrs), 100amp (Nagares RL/180-12) relay, cable ties, fuse holders & fuses etc, etc plus full easy to follow fitting instructions and advice at the end of a phone if needed.

Price £45.00 delivered to your door

If you require and more details / advice - please just give us a shout.

Can be purchased via the link below:
http://www.xtremevan.co.uk/product_i...oducts_id=5199

Please not this in NOT suitable for newer vehicles with inteligent alternators... Bear with us on this, we are figuring it out! - please see progress below

Just to update this post regarding the inteligent alternators, which we have listed above:

As we have yet had the opportunity to investigate this Black/Yellow wire at the fuse box I would suggest that the following checks are done on this wire before using it to trigger the split charge relay:
1. This wire is 0 volts with the ignition switch in the off position.
2. This wire is 12 volts with the ignition switch in the on position.
3. This wire is 0 volts in the starter motor cranking position.

Alternatively if your vehicle is fitted with the earlier type "non intelligent" alternator, connection to the Blue wire at the alternator will provide a trigger for the split charge relay.

It is also worth mentioning that an additional low powered (VSR) Voltage sensing relay, such as the "Smart Com", may be used to trigger the larger split charging relay, this can be connected to the vehicle battery via a fuse and then the output onto the 100 Amp split charging relay supplied with the kit.

Many thanks

Jay

So the things youre going to be plugging into the box such as 12v sockets, with the split charging kit you get all the pins and eyelets (for the earthing stud) supplied loose but you will need to crimp these on your self Easily done with pliers and a bit of solder or we can supply the tool.

If you have any ore questions feel free to ask.

Cheers.

Hi andy.

I'm getting confused (thank god only a 4 day week!)
Are you asking about the terminals in the DIY kit as someone mentioned the heavy duty on, which is the answer i gave.
The DIY £30 kit comes supplied as shown in the picture. All the terminals are loose, eyelets will need soldering or crimping on, we don't sell the tool for the bigger eyelets, they are easier to solder than crimp.

With regards to the heavy duty unit the battery terminals come connected.

Sorry for any confusion!!

After months of sitting in the cupboard, I finally got round to fitting my kit yesterday. And it's working a treat. Only probs I had was lack of soldering equipment, so used vice. Lol and main + lead will need extending for my needs. Best way to join? Or just replace with longer bit?

Other than my quibbles! Awsome bit of kit! Highly recommend it!

Fast delivery and great service
