9 seater ,whats on logbook

hi folks
ive got a 9 seater shuttle , says on logbook " mpv" "diesel car" direct line wont insure me they say its a minibus
i was told today that the definition of a minibus is 9 seats to 16 seats
so i wondered what an 8 seater is

I've got 2 5 sweater kombis and they both say 9 seats on the v5

I have a shuttle that has 8 seats, so insured it as 8 seater, when I got log book back it said 9 seats, I asked my insurance company if I could put it to 9 seats for a trip to France, they said no and cancelled my insurance due to fact it had been modified from 9 to 8 seats, by previous owner, they actually cancelled my policy while I was at work, they are criminals and can do what they like, I had to find insurance before I left worked, I had to take the first quote I had as a lot of companies wont insure for 9 seats,
Can I change log book to 8 seats,

I insured my Kombi as a 6 seater cos that's how many it's got, then the log book arrived with 9 seats written on it. Now I'm worried. Should I tell insurers or try to get log book changed or just ignore it?
BTW, it has never had 9 seats, I bought it new with 6 and log book arrived saying 9.

My 2005 8 seater shuttle says van/side windows-9 seats.

If you've bought it new from VW as an 8 seater shuttle or 5/6 seater kombi & your v5 comes to you saying 9 seats then I'd go back to the dealer & make them sort it out, at the end of the day it is VW that submits details to dvla initially for registration. Sure
Y all these mistakes are down to their inefficiency.

if the log book does not match the details you gave the insurance company or match the vehicle in the flesh then you are giving the insurance company a very legitimate reason to decline to pay a claim which could end you up in deep poo if the worst was to happen
