Not a very productive weekend, 2 Christmas dos made sure I didn't really feel like doing much work!

I've fitted the roof light and solar panel though! I made a wooden frame for the roof light, so it is Sikaflexed to the roof and screwed through the roof skin into the frame, which will also support the roof panels.

The solar panel is Sikaflexed in place and bolted through the roof skin too, for good measure. It's not connected to anything yet but as I was messing with the roof I thought it best to do all at once.

Good to see progress already.

Keep it going. At this pace you'll be ready by the end of the Spring !

Thanks, I plan to be ready before that because I know what I'm like, if I start using the van while it's not finished, all the little jobs that need to be done will never get done. I want to go to France this winter, so the van has to be completed over the next 6 weeks. There's nothing like a deadline to keep you going!

At least I have a bit of a budget put to one side for it, so that doesn't delay me...

Any clever ideas on what to do with door cards and dashboard? Everything is going to be quite nice inside, except the front end plastics which look rather industrial!

Leather sounds pretty good, what's your plan to "make it fit"? I've seen a few that needed stitching, sounds like something that would be easy to get wrong...

if you look at the panels there are no real compound curves, so a good adhesive and heat the cloth with a heat gun so its very soft you can smooth it on , it also depends how you separate the colours , or you could mix 4 way stretch carpet on some parts and cloth on the others,

I finished the insulation today, it'll be cosy in there!

Tomorrow, I'll start boarding out and working out how everything is going to fit. I have had a thought about the cupboard over the cab, and the little cubby hole I want to build too, so hopefully they'll be there by tomorrow.

I made some progress with the central locking, however I can't get it to work, the mechanism in my door is different to the one you pictured Martyn. It's much shorter and I can't get the actuator to sit at the correct angle to push the lever properly...

I have to say I'm not a fan of these short days either!
