We use as we think it's a safer option for the mutts, purely a personal choice. Not mandatory for travel at all.

I'm looking to go through Europe in a few weeks time with my dog
we were wanting to go to Italy via Switzerland.
I know Switzerland is not in the EU but is accepted as part of the dog passport scheme
Does anyone have experience of travelling through Switzerland with their dog?
Is there any extra precautions or requirements when you exit Switzerland?
Thanks

We've been to Swiss the last 3 years and there are is no need to take extra precautions or requirements, same as any other border.
Always put a Scalibor collar on our dog before we go, works well to prevent ticks, sandfly and mozzies.

Always use a vet in France as i think cheaper than Swiss would be, paid anything from free to 30 euro's for the pet check and passport stamps. (always take our own worming tablets too).
