T4 Post Icon Evaporating Fluid

I have an odd problem. A couple of weeks ago I topped up my power steering fluid which was very low and the steering was making odd noises. I checked it again at the weekend and it's back down to the level it was before I topped it up. But there's no sign of a leak on the driveway - it just looks as if the fluid is disappearing! Could it be leaking into the oil, or somewhere else?

On that note does anyone know a good, reliable mechanic in West Cornwall who know his way around a T4?

If you can't see any visable leaks from the bottle or the pump, then pull back the rack gaitor and expect it to run out of there

agree mate,,mine as been like this for last 2 mot"s "" years"
theres know play in the rack end & it dont leak bad now
track rod end off "Count the turns lol" pull the steering rack gaitor off degrease it dry it refit it easy

you could try http://www.lucasoil.co.uk/products.p...uct&product=16

& i can assure you mate i dont normally use things like this but it as deffo slowed the leak right down,,you may have to use 2 bottles as it says on the bottle itself but it really works & feels smoother too,,just shringe some old fluid out & top up,,the lucas stuff is red & mega thick
hope this helps

mine was the same lossing fluid, no leaks on the drive. trust me its leaking if the level is constantly dropping. changed my rack yesterday, like a new van to drive now. firmer steering and all the knocking on front as gone due to the tie rods having play there at the knuckles. and so far no more fluid dropping.

Mine was leaking - didn't realise how bad til I removed a fluid sodden belly pan! I've put some slick50 in mine, seems to have stopped it for now. Will probably replace the rack later in the year.
