Yes i'll be using the campsite at Llandegla sometime this year. We're off to the Machloop and this site's not too far.

Its not. We were coming home from Dolgellau last summer and coming through Betws-y-Coed a Hercules came over us. Felt as if you could have reached up and touched it - really, really low!

This is the website for the Llandegla place if anyones interested: http://www.llandeglafishery.com/

Sounds great and its definitely going on my list this year. Do a load of biking so may check it out if I'm over the road at the trail centre next time.

Got one to add here - Pool Bridge Farm near York.

I fished this place about 10 years ago and it was good but noticed last week they had a little camp site so a free weekend with the kids whilst the wife was on a hen do meant I booked in and went. The camp site itself is VERY basic. Just a field and some toilets - no hookup or other facilities.

But the fishing is top notch. 5 lakes (one you have to be a member of) stuffed with all sorts of fish. My kids (7 and 4) loved it. LOADS of roach and rudd, a few bonus perch and a nice fat crucian and I snaffled a few decent carp off the top. Really reignited my love for fishing after 10 years of barely touching a rod!
