Depends on where your fuse box will be mounted. Mines at the rear o/s above the wheel arch. The earthing cable comes straight out the back through the panel to a earth bolt (from factory) just next to the rear light.T:
Do u mean the earth rod into the ground . Cause even generators should be earth with a rod . ( never seen it done tho ) but u should have a earth rod if ya want to do it right
No earth rod on these jobs please, this is 2012!!! Just earth incoming supply to the van body close to your RCD. Either behind rear lights or under front seat beneath rubber mat.
Behind rear lights on barn door models aswell? Have carpeted, damn . I cannot get back under the seat as I already have 4 conduits back and forth to the battery , charger etc. and don't want to weaken the structure anymore! Can I earth to that bracket on the wheel arch somehow, that's where the consumer unit will be next to it!
Hi, I plan to use the all in one camping type 3 socket with built in cable, RCD and circuit breaker when I do mine.
Will this also need a separate earth?
I see. You havent got a permanent board. But you are protected on the breaker on it at source.on it, and i assume all campsites have an earth these days. Not sure about the continent though. Anyone know
You still have to be careful with use of these as there is still a possibility that the van body could be become live if the cable became damaged and came into contact with the metalwork.
