Is the 'Mile' measured differently in Cornwall?
Ever noticed when travelling in Cornwall how the nearer you get to a place, the Road Sign says your further away than when you started the journey! Take note when next your down there.
Perfect example is:-
At the junction at the top of Port Isaac. The village which is used for the Doc Martin TV series. There is a sign post on one side of the road which reads:
St Teath 5 miles and Wadebridge 9 miles.
Don't move from where your standing and look to the other side of the same junction and another sign post indicates that it's now 5 and 1/2 miles to St Teath and 9 and 1/2 miles to Wadebridge.
