T5 Post Icon Oil filter location on a 1.9 T5

Stupid question i know, but rather than undoing something which i shouldnt, id rather ask

I'm going to do an oil change but come unstuck already. Is my oil filter this bit? (arrowed at bottom right of pic) or is the filter located underneath this? they both look similar to me..... It's a 2008 T5. the engine is 1.9.

I think mine took 5.8 litres. Put 5 in and then check it. From min to max on the dipstick is about 1 litre.

5.8L is the stated amount. Always check the dipstick thought after running the engine and letting it settle for a few minutes, not hours!!!!!!!!!!!
5/30w fully synthetic 507.00 i believe

they will do anything for a buck! 6.25 dry maybe but you can't drain the cam buckets, the pump and oil ways can you? so 5.8 to 6 is what mine takes to the line.

Bumping a useful post from a while back.

Thinking of doing mine this weekend to save some cash and more importantly to make sure I have control of the quality of oil used.

I take it dropping the oil and changing the filter on a 1.9 T5 is quite straightforward? I have always done my own oil changes on older vehicles but my only minor concern is how vehicle manufacturers tend to overcomplicate things these days.

Is the sump plug easily accessible?

Any special tools required?

Thanks
Shaun
