T4 Post Icon removing/lifting abl engine

hey all, stripping out my old t4 before scraping. id like to take the engine/box out before i do for parts, sale, tdi ing dunno but think itd be better than scrapping the lot. thing is i dont have an engine hoist. has anyone done it macgyver style, think i could get a pallet truck but was concerned about weight, balance and damage. any ideas appreciated

hi dan it can be done with a large trolley jack
i have done it on my conversion only to get engine gtolf and vwt4 out
but to put back in engine lift is a must
theres a picture on my tdi conversion thread on removing golf engine its roughly the same for vwt4

thanks peeps got a few big trolley jacks in the lock up/ garage im using. ill have a look at the thread. failing that ill look nto hiring 1.

yeh mate if you use a flat piece of board it evens the weight out and does not damage sump
