Sorry to hear what's happened!

Have you considered using a claims management company?
One of my friends had a similar incident & decided to try one - They will fight your corner & generaly make sure things are resolved quickly. Even sort out a loan vehicle for you & charge it all to the other person's insurance company.

Saved him a lot of hassle - Might be worth looking into.

Maybe it's just me but that sounds terrible, it's sheisters ike that that are putting everyones premiums up.

If the accident isn't your fault, you've got no corner to fight surely.

Just my humble opinion I:

I got hit by someone in my car who was being y (even though I was waiting at lights stationary) and kept contesting fault.

So i did exactly this and used a company called Accident Exchange.

They delivered me a brand new ford focus courtesy car (not sign written) (high spec as well) all the way from Birmingham, made the claim for me and sent the car to the main dealers body shop.

Made it so easy and hassle free and made sure I didn't have to pay out for not at fault.

If the person has admitted fault and you can take your van to a good body shop etc. and get it sorted perfectly and not be inconvenienced then maybe don't bother but any slight hassle from the other driver (who sounds like they were at fault) and I'd go for it.

I'd say its the bad drivers putting peoples premiums up Rasp:

I agree don't use them unless necessary but they ain't like those "where there is blame there is a claim" companies at all.

Unfortunately, regardless of the fact that it wasn't your fault, your insurance will go up.
I've argued til I'm blue in the face with insurance people over this but they insist that if you are involved in an accident, statistically you are a greater risk.

It's complete b******s but there's nothing we can do about it. It will make a difference of a few percentage points each year for 5 years. Make sure that your claim includes compensation for this.

I've just had so much hassle with insurance companies in the past, I thought it seemed like a good idea. I went through 9 months of ball-ache trying to get a claim resolved, when someone hit my parked car!
Life's too short for that sh;t.

If you claim off YOUR policy it might.

A non at fault accident claimed against someone else will not affect your insurance.

I'm guessing that no fault will be proven on either side as the only witness was my girlfriend in the car behind. Will conteset fault and hope the possitioning of the cars in the photo prove i tryied to aviod her, you can just make out her tyre marks head out into the oposite side of the road but.....who knows.

Don't think its any thing I can get stressed over...more important things in life, the surf improving for the weeekend is one!!!!!!!!!!!.

Lets see what happens.

Exactly the same thing happened to me in my honda, she was overtaking a parked car on a bend and went down the side of me.
I had a car full of people, 20 odd pictures of her skid etc.

Result= no fault claim.
I used accident exchance and they were as useful as a chocolate teapot. All they were interested in was to give me a courtesy car for 1 month and getting paid for it. They work on a commission on the hire car.
I sent loads of info etc and because they dealt with it, my insurance company could not get involved, i was not told this at the beginning. They were recomended by the bodyshop i took my car in to get a quote.

I found someone that knew her and she was 17 and this was here 3rd crash.
All i can say is [email protected] cow, she had cost me hundreds of pounds because she's a complete idiot driver. Should be banned.
Next time i'll take it to the courts

Picked my van up yesterday from the body shop, after 2 weeks...driving round in a fiesta makes you realise how much you depend on your van.

Third party insurance addmited liability, paid out and repaired in 2 weeks, doesn't afferct my no claims.. well happyA:A:A:A:

they even removed some of the dings allong the other pannel A:

it was sparkly till I went straight for a surf..got a bit muddy.

but hey its back....now to fit the sun roof thats in the shed, might now colour code the bumpers as the sparkly bodywork makes them look a bit shabby!

3 weeks off.... oh soooo much to do....A::DA::D

If your girlfriend has a different address make out shes an independant witness.

or dump her and then she wont be anything to do with you so can be an indepensent witnessI:I:
