Depends on your ability really - I got a kit off ebay - incarstuff I think it was - and a cheapo alarm at the same time. They installed pretty easily, and wired together to give me remote unlocking. You will need a sliding door contact plate to wire into the sliding door. I fitted into barn doors, not sure about tailgate lock.

The wolf specific kit is the best to fit for ease and reliability.

I fit these and alarms for a living, one of my old t4's i fitted a kit to 6years ago is still working well.

They come in a 2 door kit (fronts only) then you can buy the rear to go with it sliding door rears or tailgate.

Kit comprises of motors, wiring relays, door connects and custom made connecting rods with full instructions and templates of where and what to drill. It is also possible to operate from a aftermarket alarm or remote locking kit.

It's not the cheapest but it is the best in my opinion, i've been fitting stuff like this for the last 10 years or so.
Any more info Pm me or contact via my website www.savvi.co.uk

This is from my build thread hope it helps

And fitted central locking, well T4aid did most of the hard work, but i finished the job off.

As i understand usually a 3 hour job but no not with me, best part of a week :(

anyway got the kit from rightclick (http://www.rclick.co.uk/) on ebay for 34 delivered, 2 masters and 2 slaves then got the sliding door contact of ebay (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&item=140280467316)as well (this is the best one to get as you don't have to line up male and female ports) for 7.99 they sent me 2 tho so i emailed them and sent one back as he said he would refund the postage and only cost 1 to send back but he refunded 3 A:

I got the Rods and clips from at VW supplier in Stoke, they delivered the rods but not the clips rang them twice they said they would deliver ended up going up to get them they only cost 34p and i only had 24p on me (i got them for that) but how much hassle for 34p's worth?????

Then i snapped one of the clips :* :( so had to order and other one, they delivered that on time tho A:

Striped of the door cards first and took some of the lower dash off the fit the wires

Did the sliding door first and the contact, had the fit the solenoid in a different spot than standard, you can see in the first pic where the central locking rod clamps to the locking pin

http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/ll168/thegreengeko/The%20build/DSCF1822.jpg http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/ll168/thegreengeko/The%20build/DSCF1831.jpg

http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/ll168/thegreengeko/The%20build/DSCF1833.jpg http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/ll168/thegreengeko/The%20build/DSCF1832.jpg http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/ll168/thegreengeko/The%20build/DSCF1835.jpg

then did the front doors, again the controls wouldn't fit in the standard holes :( I the 5th pic you can see why you want to get the VW standard rods as they come bent and are also the correct length ish, forgot to take a pic of the clip but you put the top of the rod in to the clip so it stays in the hole on the locking mechanism

http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/ll168/thegreengeko/The%20build/DSCF1823.jpg http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/ll168/thegreengeko/The%20build/DSCF1859.jpg http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/ll168/thegreengeko/The%20build/DSCF1860.jpg

Than thread all the wires through and clipped them up behind the dash, will get some rubber thingies to go from the door to the main body.

Its all done now and working fine A:

i've been looking about and looked at the rclick kit and another from another place, and decided to go with t4srus, although its a bit more expensive, it has simple keys (not flip ones) and has the sliding door contact, and pnce i would have paid for postage at all other places getting the bit i decided it was easier and simpler to order that one.

I think you'll still need to get the rods and clips from VW tho?

I'm not sure how much the kit was that you ordered but the ones i get have the long connecting rods and all the clips included, plus full instructions.

Here is the link , they also do the electric window kits.

I'm not sure if i'm allowed to say i can supply if needed ?
