I've had laser cutting done before but it burns the edges and it all has to be sanded and painted afterwards but it was MDF not sure at all about doing it with Voyringer ply as that's got a paper core I think.

The core will be Italian Poplar (ply, very light) , not sure how the paper ( making up the thin bonded surface )in the faces will stand up though. Mate of mine bought round some laser cut plywood the other day, he'd cut a "graphic" into the face, wasn't sure if the burn-look was an interesting feature or a mess ! Pretty sure cnc ing is best option.

yep your right..... laser cutting anything like wood burns like a thing that was burnt by a laser !

CNC is ok but can chip if you dont set the cutting speed right

water jet is very clean but can water stain the wood ....but this can be sanded off as its just the powder left on the surface.
