My dads 2.4 T4, has what looks to be a choke lever on the right of the steering wheel.

Doesn't seem to do a lot, but I'm sure if I pull it out it sounds a little more tappetty.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

It's a cold start lever, it just lifts the revs a bit...T:..

I asked the AA man when i
I was being recovered, as I have one on my 1.9 TD. He told me its a "rev assist "it just increases the revs for cold start .....

As sed, it advances the pump timing slightly just giving a bit more juice to start with...ruins fuel consumption if you forget to push in once engines running..Rasp:
