Hi

does anyone know why, if you rev the engine of the van (03 2.5tdi 102) to about 2000revs (out of gear) then step on the brake the revs drop down to about 1200?

any ideas anyone?

sure its because its fly by wire accelerator if i remember correctly, perfectly normal though they all do it...( good for cruise control though)

IT IS because of the fly by wire!
question is why would you want to press both pedals at once anyway:confused:

this is because there is a switch on all pedals ie clutch and brake this is for shutting the fuel off when decellerating/coasting, more fuel economy trickery to go wrong:eek:LOL:

it is so that when you are doing a really tricky maneuver like stopping for example and your dirty big size 14 work-boot is still pressing on the accelerator pedal at the same time the brakes have a chance of stopping you against the massive torque of the acv mill.... well thats the conclusion i came to anyway..
