145 VW wheel alignment

Ok peeps, i still havent had my camber, toe in etc checked since lowering my van a year ago. Tyres have now worn down and garage said something about a rear tyre being out of shape maybe due to this.

The only reason i took it to the tyre place was because of vibration on the steering wheel. Thought perhaps balancing. Guy pointed out excessive tyre wear on inside edge of the front which is fair enough, but the backs seem pretty good tread wise. Bear in mind i've had these wheels and tyres for about 17 months

1 - Does the out of shape thing sound about right?
2 - Listers van centre are saying the van needs to go back on its steelies and onto their specialist rig. Been quoted 2hrs labour plus VAT alas 145+VAT. Does this sound a fair price?
3 - Could i take it elsewhere for this, but will the same level of investigation be done as the dealers?
4 - I now need at least 2 front tyres, recommendations. Currently running fullruns but want something quieter?

Please help!!!

I paid 36 quid for 4 wheel laser alignment and that included adjustment. So it sounds like they are trying to pull your pants down.

Take it to a local tyre fitters as if they have the equipment, then no more than 50.

Most places with up to date equipment will check it all as the measuring heads on the wheels check tracking, castor, camber, thrust axis, etc at the same time to get an accurate reading.

Cost me 80 for camber, castor, toe ect front and rear including adjustment, dont take it to a tyre place as most of them have dated equipment.Take it to a large bodyshop with the right gearT:

I guess its finding a reliable 4 wheel align centre with up to date equipment and them knowing how to use it.
Any recommendations out there, midlands area?

Not sure if this is any help or maybe to far away.

These guys did my Lexus and was well worth the journey to have it set up correctly.
Other places I tried just didn't seem interested.

Sounds a bit steep. I charge 25 for 4-wheel alignment, and for a full Geometric adjust and set at a friends' garage is approximately 60.

Try Chemix at Halesowen Stoo. They did mine 2 years ago. Printouts at start and finish, been brilliant after scrubbing tyres beforehand. About 55 if I remember right. Easy to find off J3 M5 then head for Dudley from Halesowen bypass and on r/h side.
