T4 Post Icon Gearbox issue. Part not available

As above, I lost all gear the other day in my 2.5 ACV 2003. After much investigation the problem has been diagnosed. The end of the linkage the enters the gearbox has worn out. Both parts have splines which no longer interlock. We have been told that VW no longer make the part, so Iím looking for inspiration. Obviously a brokers has crossed my mind but wondered if anyone else had any ideas.
Iíll try and workout how to put a picture up to help in the identification of the parts.
Thanks.

check out

http://www.realoem.me/Volkswagen/RDW/TR/2003/230/R/7

find the right diagram for your gearbox. Work out the part numbers.

Google/ebay them. You may get lucky.

Possibly 701711223B which has a spline but not sure if its correct.

To be honest you need it stripped down and the bits infront of you.

I had to order 4 aac injection manifold seals from Latvia last week as couldn't get any in uk. Quite fast delivery!
