Slightly off topic sorry but................

Jim I looked at those scangauges before and I was under the impression that they wouldn't work on a pre 2000 van, but yours is pre 2000 isn't it

It uses the OBDII connector which isn't on any vans pre 1996 they used the OBD (obd1), i was hoping mine might be a different as it is a 95 but it has the on-board computer thing which track temperatures, MPG, trips etc, I have to check mine when i get in.

Here's hoping...

That cooler is near impossible to source in the UK without payment shipping and import from the US,

So been lookgin for other potential donnors, and cam eup with the Oil-Cooler from the VW Touareg.

This one is bigger still, but at least i can get it in the UK, might be a little too wide though have to check when i get back.

Overall size is :655 X 160 X 16 mm

That is without the fixing tabs, which could probably be altered

I've been out looking in my neighbours Audi Q7 which has the same cooler as above, Main dealer price 300 ish, so this no0n-oem seemed pretty good steal at 186.

Right the measure up seems like it will fit, so i order it, fingers crossed

Good luck Jim, keep us all posted how you get on. I'm looking at doing this mod to lengthen the life of my auto too.

The sonnax adapter kit which allow you to reroute the oil from the existing cooler to an external one.

Posted some info about it up there a bit

https://www.vwt4forum.co.uk/showpost....0&postcount=12

I thought they would be cheaper TBH as the ones online form the states are half that price, might be worth getting them over there and shipping over, they are only a small item, they might even skip under the import duty radar if they are really small.
