T4 Post Icon 1.9td needs more power!!

Hi guys

My 1.9td engine is weak, it's very healthy had a top end rebuild injectors, diesel pump before I bought it, I've had a new turbo put on about 2000 miles ago and I know it's only 68bhp but is there a way of extracting more power from this lump?? I'm not over keen on ripping the engine out and replacing it with another out if the golf etc... as I would rather just sell the van as is and buy a different van(2.5tdi t4 or a t5 and remap it)

But if I can get more power out of this van for not a massive outlay I'll try that??

Any idea guys

Cheers
Baz

Tons of info on here, just do a search. I would also do a EGR blanking and dump the cat if you have one.

Wow the 1.9 non turbo - feel for you mate lol !!

I'm soooo tempted for a 2.5 with luxuries like central locking and aircon would be great lol

The egr is blanked off and I bought a 'dummy cat pipe' when I put on a full new system. I made the mistake of having a 'side exit exhaust' for about 2 days but it was to much for me so a traditional 2 pipes at the rear was added!! Ahhhh much better for this 'old man' hehe

Don't worry about me I've had all the variants, and this ones just great with its Bilbos goodness.

On these roads today no ones going anywhere fast so save your cash...

How did you find the 2.5 van?? as I've not drive a t4 2.5 but I have a t5 2.5 auto kombi (low mileage pampered thing and is great)
My little 1.9td is smashing as we'll tbh it's great on fuel it's pretty solid as we'll compared to some vans I've seen, I know it's slow but it's been no bother it didn't cost me the earth, it has 3 middle row seat so a 6 seater to carry everyone around and it's no show pony so I don't mind when it gets 'used'....

I'm looking at getting some sliding side windows as the kids moan on about not seeing outside but I must admit I do skirt around the notion of a t4 2.5 'velle' with some luxuries

Cheers
Baz
