Hi everyone - Just got my first T4. It's already kitted out as a camper with a highly (and high) unfashionable roof.
I am compiling my list of Improvements!
Apart from looking uncool, is there any reason to splash out on a pop-up roof?

Hello and welcome. Hard to judge if the roof is uncool or not (purely personal) without pictures. One person's idea of cool may not be everyone else's. You may find that in practice your perceived uncool roof may be very practical on a daily basis Try and compare with some other T4's with a pop top, and then give yourself some time to use the T4 as you intend to, and make a decision then. Either way, enjoy your van. It's yours to make what you want with it

Old VW's never die, they just get more expensive!!!

Hi and welcome! It's cool in a more retro way! Not sure about the dots and bird design but it's unusual and that makes it interesting. My sister has a high top and they've made it look cool in a charming classic way with nice curtains and bunting inside etc. The roof catches the wind at high speeds but worth its weight in gold once they're camping. I'd keep it and save the money instead of converting to pop top, use the money for mods and maintenance! That's just me! Have fun with it!

Hi New Girl
I've just had my first T4 hightop and it's already kitted out (Aztec conversion) -interior everything's very 'grey' so am going to add some colour. Love the storage space though and looking forward to being able to sleep couple of kids in the roof bunk

Got to agree with VWmad2012, keep the high top save your money for maintenance. Try it out for awhile you'll find you maybe glad of the extra headroom when your camping in it. Oh yeah, Welcome to the forum
