UPDATE- I have been attempting to do this job over the last few days. No luck in borrowing or finding a hire place so on ebay bagged a bargain. And also got extra £10 off voucher so made it £53 result

Sorry, but good luck with that.
Looks like the Chinese Cheese metal ones.
Easy to spot, as they ALWAYS say "free case included".....costs them an extra 10p to have them made!

There's a reason why the tool varies between almost £200 and £50.

Last cheapo one I used split in two with a big bang!!!

Joint never moved though...so at least the van was saved!

@Indian:
I guess that "simple C-Clamp" was quite a well made one...NOT purchased at Biltema!?!?!? (Non Scandie people, Google Biltema.no)
Cheap tools....some good, 80% cr*p

to be fair, I've an ebay special balljoint tool, looks identical to the one as linked...

bought it a few years ago for ~ £50 delivered from Holland.

it's worked faultlessly, lost count of the ammount of joints it's replaced

admittedly I keep it stripped & cleaned after each use then oil the threads before use....

some time the threads will need replacing but this I would expect from a more expensive tool

the Chineese quality is catching up with what we expect from euro & North American companies - although their prices are creeping up (now they have removed some of their competition )

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ +1 China is pretty much the biggest producer of steel and aluminium. So even if the tools are not manufactured there, they may originate from Chinese raw materials anyway

You can find on Amazon, I got mine for Ä 86 from Amazon.de, postage is cheaper to Italy & VAT

The only difference I can see to the Sealey is the box color, having been in China looking at how this works it all comes from a small number of factories but in huge volume & is sold branded & generic worldwide, but I think itís a good idea to get one as these will be obsolete in a few years as the T4 wheel bearing tool already has, unless you take the hub off itís a pain in the ass, I got a T5 tool & modified it Ä 68 (bodged).

Yup China is really the hub of "Factory Asia", having taken 30 million people out of poverty and given them skills their raw materuials are now shipped to other countries, to take advantage of 'cheap labour'

Many years ago when shipping from there; we used to call China "1000% China". Now even if you visit the trade fairs and source carefully those levels of profit margin, simply don't exist any more. The reason they are able to produce in such volumes is they have created the most amazing manufacturing infrastructure.

In this country people used to scoff at a 'Made in China' label ........................ you don't see many made in GB, or for you older types like me 'Empire Made' labels these days

Just making a start on mine as it failed the MOT, jacked the hub up until upper arm hit the bump stop and wedged it in, lowered the hub but didnt clear the joint, i guess some mild levering down will be in order.
Awesome guide though complete with torque settings
