T4 Post Icon About to start my T4 experience

I'm Ollie, I'm just about to buy a T4 and convert it into a nice little camper to use for the weekends away. The whole experience is able to happen as I have just started my new job which will allow me to afford to do it and because I thought 'screw it you only live once'. Even though I haven't bought my T4 yet work has already begun. To be able to start this project I need to get rid of my Bora (Bomb proof 1.9PD which has never let me down!), which I am selling to my sister. So I have been getting that ready for her. Put a new clutch in it yesterday, as the current one had just started to slip.
I have decided to make my purchase in September as I have two weeks off which will allow me plenty of time to source a decent base vehicle. So for the moment, I'm going to pass the time researching/sourcing parts and drooling over other people's T4's!!

Good luck in your search! Do as much research as you can before buying one, all t4s are not the same (engines, gearboxes, payloads etc), ideally drive a few to see the diffences and decide what will suit you and your conversion (bearing in mind you'll be adding weight). Bodywork is also one of the most expensive things to put right so get a good one to start with.
We had a 55 plate highline 1.9tdi bora 130, it was brilliant but had to go to free up funds

Good luck in your search ..!! Good ones for conversion are hard to find , so it may take time .. As above , T4,s are not all the same , do your homework , and you will find your choice of suitable vehicle reduces , dramatically ..!! Add on the issues of age , rust repair , etc . etc . and you would be lucky to find one , or two you may be happy with , in two weeks , and they may be a long travel to inspect ..!! Many on here spent 6 months looking ..!!

Welcome and good luck in your search. Don't give yourself too much of a time budget as you may rush into buying the wrong van. If you wait a couple of months the prices will drop a bit.
