Default A guide to buying and selling on the forum

  • Selling on the forums domain should be submitted to the classifieds section for moderation, there will normally be a delay in the approving the ad as moderators have to check the suitability of the ad and make sure it conforms to the ad criteria.
  • Classified ad,s (For sale, Van's for Sale, VAG Vehicle sales, Wanted and Swap shop) are strictly for Subscribed members only. Non subscribed members will get a permissions error when trying to post a new thread in the above sections.
  • Ad's should not be posted in any other section on the forum and any found will be deleted without notification.
  • The forum holds no liability for any items sold on this forum. Any agreement entered into is purely between the buyer and the seller.

When buying/selling we would recommend that you observe the following as a guide:

  • Make sure that you give as much accurate information as you can about the item(s) you are selling/swapping.
  • Be honest about any damage or wear and tear and fully test all functions of the item where possible before advertising.
  • Cover yourself, always insist that the item is insured when agreeing a postage and packaging price, and provide tracking details asap, communication is the key.
  • Create a paper trail, try and make your transaction public on your thread. This not only shows the item as sold so people dont waste their time contacting you, it also show who your transaction was with if you need a record. i.e post up "Sold to such and such" or "item posted" etc
  • It may also help on sizeable threads to edit your first post to "ITEM NOW SOLD"
  • The generally accepted way of conducting a sale within this community is "DIBS" system i'e first dibs, second dibs etc. If this is not how you want to conduct the sale please state on the advert.
  • You are also encouraged to leave feedback on the member once the transaction is complete (item paid for and delivered) Positive and negative feedback can be left. Details at the bottom of this post.

  • If paying by Paypal then never send money as a gift unless you are 100% certain about the deal as you will not be able to get it back if anything does go wrong.
  • If the item is going to be posted, Insist on having the item insured and tracked to an adequate level of compensation.
  • Once the item has arrived, inform the seller, and if there are any problems let them know straight away.
  • Try to keep your transaction on thread. This maybe prove useful if a problem develops at a later date. Post things on thread like "payment Sent"
  • You are also encouraged to leave feedback on the member once the transaction is complete (item paid for and delivered) Positive and negative feedback can be left. Details at the bottom of this post.

(P.S. if there is anything that you think is relevant and is not above, drop me a PM and I'll add it if necessary)
