Default Winter tyre drone....

Iíve been doing a bit of travelling in the back while my wife drives and my son is in front with her...the tyre drone in the back is unreal... wheel bearings appear all good..arches are carpet lined only...
I expect drone but these vredestein comtracs do seem overly noisy....
not a real issue if your in the front....!!

Some tyres do that a lot more than others. It also gets much worse as tyres age.....how old are the tyres?

Tyres do have a noise rating look them up and compare them to some similar tyres to see if the noise rating is higher

Rub your hand back and forth over the tread , if it feels 'stepped' then this will be the cause of your droning as it drums on the road surface.

Yep your right.... out of shape tread... blocks unevenly worn....
It became so bad I had to stop half way down France and throw the shiftiest looking spare on imaginable.... itís a Michelin but the steelies been under the van for 6 years and looks a right mess.....
But the drone is 100% gone.... the noise was so bad even the radio couldnít drown it out...
Thanks chaps
Appreciate your help as ever
