Evening guys,
my -60 mm springs should be here tomorrow.
Started winding down the torsion bars this evening with the thought in my head of leaving 30mm on the thread.
Have I gone mad or is this about right for lowering to match the rear.
in theory yes, but after the springs are fitted, have a good look at it and measure up wheel centre to arch etc. you may find you have to do a bit of wigglingT:
hard ............... !!!! ever drove a lowered bay/split camper or beetle or even a slammed early Golf ..... all the same, ride is hard and crashes over pot holes etc etc
I Lowered mine on these springs, and gotta be honest, i never felt a difference from what it was as standard, only felt a difference when i fitted 18" wheels with a 45 tire, still rides plenty smooth enough for me T:
Had some -60mm CMCs and didn't really rate them. Found they where a bit too soft for my liking, I also had an uneven rear end which I could never sort till I changed to a different make. Although others on here are pleased with them.
Can't comment on T4sRUs -60mms because I swapped to his -85mms. But the -85s are pretty good. I'd say a good middle spring below the more expensive German brands.
