T4 Post Icon Wheel Bolts ?Merc Wheels

I have a set of Merc Penta wheels coming. Ive been told they will need drilling as VW wheel bolts are M14 and the Merc used M12. Is this correct and I suppose the only way to get them drilled in to get an engineering company to do this? Once drilled can I use my standard bolts as used on my steel wheels?

'tis true, most merc fit wheels need their boltholes drilling to a clearance size for the vw 14mm bolts, check though as some wheels like Penta's may have a 14mm + clearance size

they might be long enough for a thread or two but not safe enough to drive

theres plenty of suitable m14 bolts on ebay (check if you need taper or radius seats?) and dont forget to get 'spiggot-rings' when fitting wheels with larger centre-bore than origonal
