T4 Post Icon Cruise Control - How to Diagnose

Does anyone know where in the Bentley is the diagnostics section for the Cruise Control?

Wiring diagram... check I see that

Components and where they are located ... check I see that

But where the heck is the section that tells you how to diagnose the system?

I want to verify where my problem is before I throw money at a new control module.

Thanks in advance.

Default Re: Cruise Control - How to Diagnose

On the models where the cruise is integrated into the ecu, you diagnose it with Vcds, go into the ecu and go to measure blocks 66(I think) one of the blocks shows a row of 000s, they change to 1s as you press the pedals and switches.

Not touched the vr6 system, but I would try Vcds, there may be an option for connecting to the cruise module. A $10 eBay lead and the free version should get you measure blocks.

If there isn't diagnostics for it, the get a multimeter out and check that the switches are doing what they should and check the unit has power.

Yep, would have been a good idea if I would have specified this is a 1997 and that it has a CC module.
