T4 Post Icon oil burning smell in cabit and heting all the time

Hi Guys, facing a bit issue with a my heater on T4 2.5tdi 2001. Its heating even in blue and ist smell like and oil burning (not alot but like a old tractor engine smells) I know it is form of tractor but need to get rid of it. Whats your sugestion please? Thank you. R

The heater is controlled by a valve in the water line so it can take a while to cool down after moving to blue, however it has been know for the wire to become detached, if you can get someone to move the knob while you look under the bonnet you should be able to see the wire moving, The valve is in a vertical piece of heater hose about 25mm dia located under the header tank.
