I seem to recall a few posts that talked about TfL refunding charges incurred within a certain time of reclassification? If that is the case (be surprised, but who knows!?), the OP may also be able to get the initial 100 back?

Have a look here mate, might help you.
I got mine done at my local scrappers, any scrapyard with an approved weighbridge will do it for a few quid.Good luck
Only problem with that is as soon as I drive it past a bloody camera it's gonna cost me 100 quid for the LEV fee !

Ah yeah,awkward.
I've lived away from the old smoke for too long, not used to all that borlocks these days.
Can you not email the LEZ and explain your situation? You might be able to get a temporary exemption just to get it weighed and reclassed.
Might be worth a try?
Hope you get it sorted without too much grief bud.

So, just spoke to TFL, no exemption for driving your vehicle to a weigh station if you drive it there and you are within the one you have to pay, however, if it is delivered to the weigh station by a flat bed or towed for instance or it is taken on trade plates you don't have to pay the charge....

You don't need to get the vehicle weighed mate. If there's no GVW on your V5, have a look and see what it says on the VIN sticker under the bonnet.
