Why do so many T4 owners put on audi rimsI: Some look o.k but after you have seen 10 vans with the same they well.. all look the same! There are some lovely rims out there with just a pinch of imagination people could find some much nicer rims:ILU:
Anybody got some retro rims they wanna show, seen something a bit different? Show us your rims (but not audi)I:
after having fords for god knows how many years i thought it only fitting i got a set of 16inch ford granada cosworth wheels for my van £26 off ebay with tyres and only 5 minutes round the corner

19 " fox matt black with chrome struts - just about to purchase so was wondering whether the crowd say bling it or ming it. ( i say a bit of both )
Is there anything else around with a flat ish face like holstens etc, Not ascari cuervos becasue they are made of cheese, looking for flat face, dish and a bit of poke
Goto agree there. Having just read through the complete thread and posted pics, the simpler more classic style of rims look the best, the larger the wheel centres are the better, providing a balance to the van shape. Is bigger better?
its known as O.E.M. genuine audi wheels for me are a good starting point when money is a little tight and if you know your stuff can be picked up quite cheap...
what really wrong for me is replica wheels where nobody knows where they come from and how / what materials there made from,,, people pay thousands for genuine bbs. oz. even genuine audi and so on... for someone in china to make an exact replica for a fraction of the cost... it shound be classed as counterfeit like your cheap copy nike teeshirts on the market...
Well i chose my audi sline split 5 spoke (rs4 some people say) replicas because A: i like themB: i want them to look OEM as im going for an audi sline look with the vanand C: with a little bit of inagination they look different to every other set cheers jaz
So generally I'm viewed as scum of the earth because I run a set of 16" Audi rims???
Even though I got them with tyres for £50??
Even though I have destroyed 3 sets of aftermarket 18" rims on all the potholes around me?
I love the fact that you can build your vehicle so you like it and people feel the urge to look down there nose at you. So far I think I've been thru about £2550 worth of wheels on my van wheels and tyres (I've only bought one new set), so pardon me if I roll my daily driver around on a set of disposable wheels. Rasp:
I'm thinking of a set of proper Retro wheels, but I'm sure that as soon as I roll out someone will point out that Porsche and Audi are not pretty much one in the same so I'll still be scum LOL:
Love the fact that people class replica wheels as "unsafe". what a load of rubbish!
They still have to go through quality control procedures before they can be sold on the open market. Meaning that they have been deemed safe for use on a motor vehicle. Now whether or not they are specifically approved for use on a commercial vehicle is another story, but then neither were half the wheels in this thread!
To say Replica wheels are frowned upon because they aren't genuine OEM wheels, fair enough. But to say they are unsafe and are going to kill you and your passengers because you didnt pay 2/3x as much for your wheels is utter nonsense.
My van came on RS6 reps, and at the mo im throwing far too much cash at my engine/interior to be able to replace them, do i fear for mine or my kids safety cos they arent genuine audi? do i b*****ks!
I have agree with you there mate...although they aint as good quality, they have still been passed as safe to be used on motor..
I dont think it matters how much you spend on alloys these days...£300 or £1500...it is the roads that dictate the damage.any wheel will crack if hit hard enough, the roads are very poor at the mo...
A bigger tyre goes some way to sort the road problem..
Any 18inch rim with a 225/40 tyres on will be at risk...copies,genuines,bbs etc
Maybe if you can afford a set of Schmidt's you may just be safe...
Ask will at tidy t's..he will happily tell you his very exspensive alloys are made of cheese..
I run 16inch old skool merc alloys on mine,so i know they are tuff....with a 55 profile tyre,i seem to be holding up ok for now..
