T4 Post Icon New clutch options for tuned 2.5tdi

My clutch is on the way out.

2.5tdi tuned to 155bhp

New injectors and full stainless exhaust (cheers Rake!)

Rake recommends a LUK heavy duty clutch, but I just wondered what others have chosen?

Cheers

Choice depends whether the stock engine was 88 or 102 bhp (different gearboxes) & who did the remap.

Ouch.... another knuckle

102 '98 Caravelle.

The map delivers smooth progressive power - there's a photo in my images.

There's a DMF rattling torque wall just above 2k rpm - many are like this.

If the torque delivery wasn't so aggressive the standard clutch would have been fine; in this situation I'd agree with Ron's suggestion.

Have a look here

Thumbs up Re: New clutch options for tuned 2.5tdi

Hi guys, I am in the same boat except I haven't got the remap done yet. I'm just in the process of fitting all of the mods and cleaning out the inlet etc etc...

Looking on the Darkside Developments website I can't see anything that says the clutches are uprated or heavy duty? I'll be looking towards the 170bhp mark
Would this be the right clutch kit?

I dont like the sound of SMF so want to stick with the DMF

I have now had feedback from Drakside Developments who have said that the clutch in my previous post is standard specification.

I am looking ot get my AJT 2.5TDI, 88bhp to around 170bhp and 260 - 280lbft, for this D.D have advised on this clutch:
