Giler Arms near Pentrefoelas has good reviews & camping.

Sorry, it's a good hour or so beyond Shrewsbury, but on the way to Anglesey

Ok , just some general feedback on this one for anyone thats interested..

First night we stayed at 'love2camp' in Shrewsbury , i expected with a name like that to be a hippy commune full of naturists ....turned out its actually called 'love2stay' and was just another overpriced night, cold showers and we sat in the van listening to the rain .

Next we moved on to Gyler , this place is basically a pub in a tiny village with a field behind .
From the outside it could have done with a little tlc , a couple of dead fridges strewn across the car park and in the wind and the rain it didnt look overly inviting.
Maybe in the summer sun this may have slightly more appeal.
Camping field was completely empty and the pub was closed until 7pm so with no obvious way to go and 'check in' we made the decision to keep moving .

We ended up at Betws-y-coed .
Nice site and a lovely place to visit
A short 10 minute walk found us a pick of half a dozen pubs/eateries but be warned ....the chippy closes very early ...before 6pm ...well i suppose it is out of season after all .

One big fat pizza, chips and a couple of pints ....that coupled with a hot shower and a decent nights kip ....i'm a happy bunny today .

All in all a good result

Just off for a walk to the bakery to see what offerings they have for breakfast .

Anyone who is looking for a campsite in Shrewsbury should check this place out https://www.morris-leisure.co.uk/car...shrewsbury.htm

Nice and clean facilities, great location next to park and ride( bus every 20mins) , co-op, chinese, chip shop and pub all within a 5 minute walk

Theyre doing a 3 for 2 offer at the minute too which makes 3 nights 52 if you're CC&C members .

We'll definitely be staying here again

We can vouch for the betwsy site too ...and the one at ludlow

Wasnt so inspired by the one at Llanberris ....partly because it was hammering it down while we were there and the town looked very jaded if i'm completey honest .
