T4 Post Icon T4 over T5

Did a coolant temp sender on a 2.5 t5 today at work, another great reason to own a t4!!!!!

Similar thing for me with the 1.9tdi T5. Had to remove the alternator to replace the ratcheting pulley and it took me at least two hours and lots of swearing. 10minute job to remove the alternator on the T4

The coolant temp sender is under the inlet manifold. To remove the inlet manifold you got to put the lock carrier into service position. Even then the sender is so awkward to fit I had to de gas the air con and remove the lock carrier completely! Ten min job turned into a three hour fight!
