T4 Post Icon Seat conversion database

I'm trying to find out which seats fit relatively easily. I need to convert my bench seat/bulkhead setup to twin and swivel because I spend loads of time in the van and I need to open up the floor area. T4 seats are prohibitively expensive, though that would obviously be the easy option!

This is what I have so far:

Impreza - 2 plates per seats
Saab 93/9-5/9000 - " " "
MG ZS/ZR - 2 metal strips per seat
Merc SLK/CLK - only marginally wider
Granada Scorpio - easy
Rover 220/620- 60mm steel plate
AudiTT - 4 holes
Evo - easy
Mini - easy
Audi S4 - pain, base not flat
BMW X5 - easy
Alfa 156/GT - 4 holes
Golf - pain, 3 mounting rails
Touran - miles too wide, rails 480mm centres
BMW 3 series - ? looks easy but opinions differ

FYI T4 rails are 390mm centres.

Please feel free to provide info on any listed plus any not listed if you have experience.

Thx

Nice one!

After all that I found a cheap pair of T4 Inca seats complete with bases.

I'll have one seat plus a base spare if anybody needs one.

Isnt the seat height a consideration too? Seem to read about seats being too high for steering wheels on here.....

Iv fitted bmw leather 325i seats to t4 bases,
passenger is ok but driver side is too high approx 2" wants to come off so it will sit lower but is ok as the seat has hight adj,
i went by the rear left hand bolt to bmw runner and was all square so a 4" plate fitted down 1 side (front to back)because they were wider, took about 3hrs to fit, looks good

fitted alfa 156 seats in mine (well one at the mo) two holes drilled at the back and a slight stretch to the alfa runners (clamp and wedge) just to save a weld. they are only about 5mm out but apparently the older bases have a wider runner platform on them making the big centre hole in the base narrower thus allowing for narrower seat rails to be fitted with ease.

Think i should of found some of them to make my life easy.

one seat took about an hour to pop in

jst fitted a set of hyundai coupe seats into mine , not to hard , seat base is around 15 mm wider than t4 , and around 30mm longer , but quite easy to do with just some flat bar , took merc s class seats out to get these in , mercs were a bit high , and too wide with a full length centre console

more a pic of the console and homemade gear extension , but seats are visible ! anyone want a standard gear extender ? wasn't long enough for me !

Hello mate

Perfect thread! How much you looking for for the spare base? I'm keen to convert my twin passenger to a single so we have a walkthru and put some nice Alfa or BMW leather in ideally so will keep a keen eye on this :-)

Cheers
Ben
