Default Bad backs & handbrakes

Hi Fellow Newbies,
As I've only joined today, do I need to get the beers in?
Just bought my first Transporter (LWB Converted Caravelle) 2 weeks ago. I love it but it has been giving me back problems. At first I thought it was the seat (captains chair) so I made a few adjustments raising the rails at the back so that my knees aren't higher than my hips. However, I have since discovered that it is the low position of the handbrake when it is off/down. The action to pull up the handbrake as I bend my torso causes me backache.
Anyone else find this happens to them?
I have made a temp extn to the handbrake lever & will post in the brakes section to find out if I can buy any sort of more permanent modification kit.
Other than that it's great!!

I used to get shoulder/back pain caused because of the short gear lever (stretching for first) but a lever extension sorted it.

Hi Redlee & congrats on being my first ever reply )
No probs with gear lever cheers. Think it may have been modded before I bought it as I don't have to stretch at all for the gears.
