Hey Jimmer and Rich,

Thanks for the responses. I'll try and pop along to your next Bristol meet at the Fox Den. My wife likes the layout too Rich so we'll have a proper think about whether we go down the LWB route.

Cheers,
Joe

Hi Chris, I have recently got involved in sea kayaking and am now looking to sell my car and get a van for one or two nights away so I can Kayak different parts of the coast. The garage area for storage of wet suits etc, as you suggested is a great idea. I would need to use the van as a second vehicle from time to time so a couple of quick questions:
Can seat belts be added safely to the rear seat and fulfil legal requirements?
Can the LWB park in a normal car parking space?
Finally, you have used the van and I assume cooking/washing up in a van you can not stand up in is not a real issue - or is it?
The compromise of not standing but getting the kayak on easily is probably better than standing in the van but struggling to get the kayak on such a high van. I was not thinking of this type of van but am very interested having seen yours.
Thanks Roger

Hi Roger,
Thanks for the questions:
I assume belts could be fitted to the back seats - I've not done any research on this, so can't advise you really. Plenty of others have done that type of thing, so would guess it's not a problem.
LWB is slighly longer than SWB, but it can be parked without any problems.
I have no problem moving around, cooking, etc. in the van. Yes, it's not a high-top, but that does mean you can go into shopping centres, multi-story car-parks, etc. And, like you say, can put things on the roof easier. Moving around in the van is fine - I wouldn't worry about it.
The van would be perfect for your needs. If you want to come and have a look let me know (it's in York).
Cheers - Richard
