I've got a mint condition T4 Caravelle 2001, 2.5TDI. It has an Eberspacher D3WZ water heater buried in the engine compartment. I have two questions and would really appreciate it if anyone can help - has anyone serviced one of these, and if so, any tips or recommendations how to do it? And...

Hi All!! I have just discovered that my 2001 2.5 Caravelle has an Eberspacher heater buried in the guts of the engine bay - can anyone advise what this does exactly? I thought that Eberspacher' were powered by diesel to provide heating, but I can't understand how it's used in my vehicle?! I wish...

Hi, I was wondering if anyone can tell me what the spare connector in the picture below is for? It comes from the heater and seems to be additional to the wiring going to the 801 Controller connector Is it something to do with enabling temperature control from my 801 controller as the heater...

Having just replaced the night heater controller (701 963 343) and my stationary heater still not working I have narrowed it down to the thermostat (701 965 581). There's power but the temperature reading is -49 so I can assume there's a thermostat problem. Just spent an hour looking for the...

Hallo everyone.. I bought myself a 1997 Caravelle last september and I've been following the posts here for a little over a year now. Pretty impressed with what people have accomplished on their vans.. as well as some very helpful how-to's.. but now I have a question, the answer to which is...

I had a new Eberspacher fitted just over a year ago, has the 701 controller. Currently its not working at all, the controller wont do anything or light up when buttons are pressed, dimly I can see 0008 in the middle of the control screen, removing both fuses to the Eber doesnt change this at...

Can anyone tell me what the procedure is with a warranty on an Eberspacher heater, I have recently had one installed and don't know if I receive confirmation direct from the manufactures or its automatically registered with Eberspacher and only comes into play if a problem arises. Thanks

Hi Folks, I am looking to get a Eberspacher D2 sourced and fitted (or Webasto), ideally in Scotland. So far everything in the van I have done myself apart from the windows, but when it comes to electrics, cutting holes in the floor and splicing to diesel pipes I think I would prefer to find...

I've got a 801 series controller in the rear of the van but wondered if it's possible to add a second 801 in the front of the van so I can control the heater when I'm driving? My initial though is that I can't, unless there is a wiring loom splitter somewhere for sale? I think I can add a...
  13. Swap Shop
Recently ordered an eberspacher D2 and this shiny Easystart Timer but just realised they are incompatible as heater is too old. I have opened the box to have a look but that is all. It will work if on the sticker of your heater it says 'H-KIT'. I would like to swap it for a 701 or 801 plus...
  14. Customising / Modding
I've purchased a D2 heater for my 2003 swb T4 which I want to for under the drivers seat so it's out of the way but protected from flood water that would be an issue during the winter if it was mounted beneath the vehicle. Any figment advice/photos would be really appreciated: - how much space...
  15. Customising / Modding
Not sure if this should be in the Conversion section or here, but as its about a modification (albeit a small one) I thought it was better suited to this area of the Forum, anyhow..... Early this year whilst planning my Eberspacher D2 Airtronic air heater installation and gathering all the bits...
  16. Parts For Sale
Hi all I have for sale an Eberspacher Handiwash unit out of my ex-AA T4. As you can see, a couple of years ago, I painstakingly dismantled it to spray paint it to better match the colours in my van. The first 2 pictures (taken with a better camera) are the best representation of the colours and...

Did anybody installed a Webasto Thermo Top C in their T4? I saw that there is more availability of used Thermo Top C than Eberspacher D4WSC then I was wondering if the first can fir our T4 and how much installation costs are. I actually have a dead Eberspacher D3WZ
  19. General Technical
I am still checking but if my Eberspacher Hydronic D3WZ is dead I am considering replacing it with a D4WSC. Anybody did it? How many things should be replaced in the circuit/pipes? Does the replacement can exploit part of the D3WZ installation? Cheers
