error code

Just had my T4 Transporter 2.5 tdi (T reg) lose response to the accelerator. Managed to limp the 400m left to work with the coil light on. Had a friend come out with a code reader and got 0309 pedal position sensor. Is this the same as the accelerator position sensor? If so then i must be bloody...
