Hey folks, I have a 13 Plate T32. It has recently developed an ignition issue where either the key doesn't turn all the way to start or it does and takes a second or two to fire. I have ordered a new ignition switch; at £13 is a quick check but could it be something more sinister? I have a...

Hi. I've spent quite some time running through FAQ's and other threads so forgive me with what must be a common problem but I'm no further forward fixing it. In short, the glow plug light does not come on when I turn the key. The starter will turn over strongly, but it will not start. An...

Hi, My ignition switch connector has been removed so the ignition and start are control by separate buttons. The wires are running up the steering column but then stop and loop back on themselves to a controller and then from that to the buttons. I want to get the wires attached back to a...

Hello. Went to start my '98 2.5Tdi yesterday, but when turning the key, no lights came on in the dash. Headlights and head unit turned on fine, though. Tried to start it, but it just kept cranking without jumping to life. The backlight for the dash turns on just fine, when I turn the lights on...

Sorry to bring up this old chestnut - but i can't quite find the answer I'm looking for. Got a 2008 (58 plate) T5 SWB 2.5Tdi. I have a new double din head unit and a dash cam. I need to run switched lives to both devices and am planning on doing this direct from the fuse box. However, I'd...

I've spent hours on this forum looking at ignition timing threads. I've had more Golfs and Jettas of all Marks than I care to remember so I've looked through the Golf Mk2 and Mk3 Haynes workshop manuals and I've looked on Google, Club GTi, Vortex etc, but I don't seem to have the same set-up as...

It's most likely these things are unrelated, but here's my story. My break pads on my vw t4 1996 2l petrol van were extremely worn down, so I simply replaced them. Once completed the van was parked overnight on a slight upward slope. Next morning, the van simply will not start, the day before...

Hello, I have recently purchased a 1997 2.5l petrol T4. I am new to having a VW and a T4, but I am coming very a custom to it. The van is turning over but not starting up. Ignition Coil was replaced before I purchased it. New battery, old one was literally dead. Fuel is going into the engine...

1997 T4 1.9Td. So, key in and turn to first position, is it just the fuel solenoid that comes on? Should the stereo too? Next position lights up the warning lights. And final position (spring loaded) starts the engine.
