  1. Welcome to The VW T4 Forums
Hi been away from here for a while and logged in with a new ID after losing my previous details. Got a '95 T4 LWB 2.4D that we have just put back on the road after three years standing on our drive. It was converted from panel van to crew cab day van with full width Reimo Variotech by...

My leisure battery isn't charging as it normally should. I have checked all fuses and none are blown. Can anyone identify the two relays in the photo. I'm not sure if either of them are the split charger relay. (The box on the farright with the knurled screw is a fuse box.)

Ebersprächer Re-wiring Hi, I bought a VW t4 Multivan 2.5TDI 2003 model which is fitted with an Ebersprächer diesel driven engine/water heater. The heater is controlled with the miniclock that can be timed (max 2h). I was hoping to find more information about the wiring of this system. Now the...

Hi There, We brought a van 2013 Standard T5 and have recently had it converted. We charged the battery yesterday which showed on the PMS as fully charged. Heading on a 4 hour journey and within 2 hours of driving the power on the TV goes dead? We've driven another 2 hours and the battery isn't...

I've seen quite a few people who have fitted their leisure battery under the drivers seat. For space reasons I'd also like to do this but was wondering if it needs to be a special type of battery. On my old caravan, the leisure battery had to be stored in a sealed compartment only accessible...

Hi, not sure if anyone can help but I'm trying to find a new control panel for my 1995 California Coach. The guy at the dealership said these are now obsolete, so I'm struggling a bit. Part number is probably 701070532H or F at the end, though I've not yet managed to dismantle it to get the...

opinions please I last put a split charge set up into a T4 about 5 years ago. I need to spec and install a split charger/leisure battery set up into a T5 kombi. The van won't be a daily driver and will sit for a week or three at a time. I suspect therefore that if it has a similar set up to my...

Not been able to find this on the search, so possibly a new/ daft idea! Looking at my engine bay, trying to work out how to cram a second huge battery in there, I realised I really don't want to move the ecu and fuses, just asking for trouble stressing old cables. Then it occurred to me; when...

Hi, I am in the process of having my 2010 T5 converted. When sorting out what was going into it I was told that I dont really need a split charge sytem and leisure battery as they are not "old hat" and nobody bothers with them anymore. As long as the lights etc are low powerd then it should be...

Hi - I have a T4 2.5TDi - 90 A alternator. I bought a Durite 140A VSR a while back and am looking to start wiring it up. I have one of JKays' double battery trays in the engine compartment and a 110 Ah battery there waiting. Just a few quick questions.. Would 16 mm cable be up to the job? very...

Has anybody connected two leisure batteries up in parrallel? I currently have a split charge rigged up in my van with VSR/mains charger etc but was windering how I would go about connecting up a second leisure battery? I have read a couple of articles on the web that say that just connecting the...

Hi, I need to buy a leisure battery and the various components i will need so that i can have separate power supply to power a few electrical items (lighting etc) in the back when needed. Does anyone know how much approximately this will cost for all the components? Also can anyone recommend a...

Hi I recently replaced my old leisure battery 105aH with a new slightly smaller one. However I find the new battery doesn't keep much charge so I can only last a day or so without mains hookup or a drive. Any ideas? The battery was £100 from a local camping store. I can see gel batteries are...

Hi all! I was thinking about putting in swivel seats in my T5 kombi (08) (2 rear seats, double bench seat in front). Probably the kiravans one and a Rib drivers swivel. I wondered if any of you with a Kombi set up had done so and if you have does it work out okay or too close together /...

Hi Folks, My computer recently packed in so I have lost my bookmarks... As a result I can no longer find this really good thread on mounting a leisure battery in the engine compartment. It had an idiots guide to the job and links for the bits required. If anyone could give me a heads up that...

Sunday is probably not the best day to try to elicit the help of the electrical professionals on this forum, but hey, it's wet and miserable out there... I'd like to keep the existing courtesy lights, supplemented by two more courtesy lights and some other 'leisure' lights, but I'd like them to...

Hi guys, I often have to leave the van idle for months at a time and am wondering what the best way to prolong the life of the leisure batteries is. I have 2 100ah batteries which are charged from a 100W roof mounted solar panel with controller (and via the van battery and heavy duty split...
