  1. Bodywork & Exterior / Detailing & Valeting
Hi, I removed the interior panel on my side door today and all my insulation was wet below the handle and in the bottom right corner. It appears water is somehow getting in through the handle. Anyone had the same problem or a solution to stop the water getting in? Thanks
  2. Security
Hi, I desperately need to know how to remove the Inner door panel/trim from my 2005 T5 Caravelle without damaging it so I can fix the door mechanism. At the moment my van is not secured and anyone could get in. I have worn out google and my keyboard searching for a how-to guide or a youtube...

Hey guys! First time post here. I started to insulate my '95 Caravelle a few weeks ago. All was good until I had completed the sliding door. Stupidly I tried to squish the door panel back on and screw it on (this didn't work so decided to leave it off) but as soon as I had tried this, the...

Hi all, so soon I will be attempting to cut out and weld in a new step section salvaged from another bus. I am not a very experienced welder however I have made some repairs to my van in the past. Anyway...is there anything I need to know before attempting this? Do I need to brace the van...

I have received a quote for both sides sills to be welded and I including my sliding door lower runner, the guy is not too far from me and his work looks excellent as far as I can see (I’m no welder though) and he has quoted me £850 including panels. I was just wondering if that sounded like a...

  9. Electrical
When you open the sliding door of my T4, the interior LEDs in the ceiling all come on. This is ok, apart from I can't see how to switch them off without closing the door! There are at least 7 other light switches in the van which all control some or all of these LEDs, all set up by previous...
  10. Welcome to The VW T4 Forums
Hi, INTRO W: New to the forum but have had a couple of Transporters over the years (T5 then T5.1). The current one is a semi-converted panel van (R&R Bed, storage units, & spinning double front bench), with some styling (lowered, Stormer rims, fat tyres, etc) - I can't take credit for any of...

Has anyone had a problem with the sliding door thinking it is open after hitting a bump in the road. I have changed both of the switch contacts in the door and in the B-pillar but still have the issue. Where is the next likely place to be effected by a bump? Opening and closing the door clears...

Hello! I'm in the process of repairing the channel where the sliding door runs, and the piece that bolts into the end of the channel is missing. This just means that I can't open the door fully as it will just drop off. Is there anywhere that sells just this part as I can't find one...

Hey, I am new to this forum, my LH sliding door sill is rotten and needs to be replaced. I have the full part which I got from the link provided, but when I took it to a welder, he said as it was for the right IT wouldn't fit on the left? Any advice...

I recently purchased a Caravelle GL 1995, but the sliding door is stuck. I can unlock it, but it seems like its jammed somehow. No matter how hard i pull it won't open. Only the outside handle works, the inside handle is stuck. Im pretty sure the only way to fix it is by removing the door card...

When I first bought my van, the sliding door was in such terrible shape I bought an off colour replacement but always intended to try and repair the original. Well finally that huge task is complete and today the original door is back on, 98% dent free, 98% scratch free and an opening window...

Has anyone ever made their own sliding door step? The prefab plastic ones are about £40 upwards and i never see any spare ones knocking about. I've had to raise the floor due to having rear seats installed on rails and was thinking about putting some ply and vinyl flooring on the step, but need...
