Hi All

I'm looking for some advice on the above. I am due to view a T4 camper tomorrow.
The seller has just informed me the temperature gauge has never worked in the year he has owned it. He has said there has been a red warning light on the dash twice (after two hours motorway driving) leading to him having it checked over in March. I have seen the email from the garage confirming the cylinder head gasket is ok. They have done a pressure test and a block test. The advice is to change the coolant sender/sensor and thermostat.

From what I read the 4 pin sender uses two pins for the gauge and two for the fans. will the fans kick in if the sender is faulty?
My problem is the van is three and a half hours drive from me on the motorway. If I try to drive it home how likely is it to overheat because of this?

Advice much appreciated.

Just take it steady......
The "sensor" is 2 parts....sensor for the gauge, switch for the fans.
