The Caravelle has around 220,000 miles. The original 2.4D engine died and a conversion to a 1.9tdi (1Z engine code) has begun. This engine has around 90,000 miles on it. The engine is in the van and running - the wiring has been completed. A new accelerator pedal to work the throttle potentiometer is there too although the potentiometer requires to be mounted to the pedal box. To complete the conversion some parts from a 1.9td T4 will be needed, including the sump, exhaust manifold, drivers side engine mount amongst others. The radiator is not yet plumbed in.

The bodywork is ok but could do with some attention, the front wheel arches are rusty but not rotten and potentially could be saved, elsewhere there is the odd rust scab. The sills and sliding door are good, tailgate has a dent in it. The van has a beige interior which is ok but needs thoroughly cleaned, the upholstery on the drivers seat has a hole in it. Usual Caravelle spec. captains seats, electric windows, central locking, rear heating etc. There is no MOT at present.

This would be a good buy for someone with the mechanical know-how to complete the engine conversion. There is an absolute wealth of information about this engine conversion here on the forum. I'm asking £1850 ono.
