2.5 ACV Pump timing

Hi there people ...just done the cambelt and pump beft on my 98 T4 102hp .... has someone got the exact position the pump pulley needs to be ? its running and ive got it up on VC but when i let off at a junction the engine dies ... thinks i may need more advance ... looking for about 55 i understand ...

I used vcds to set mine up after doing the belts. Took a little time as had to change a temp sensor to get it to work. A job I had not thought about until I came to set it up. The other option is to use a dti.

Only way is with a diagnostic to see what the ECU is reading, plenty of guides online on how to.
Definitely a job for the fairly confident as if you get it wrong can take an age to get it started again if you don't know what to do.
Aim for the slightly advanced side of .55
